Logistics Challenges in a Stormy Economy
High taxes, poor infrastructure, and incredibly complicated regulations have conspired to bring an end to the Brazilian decade of prosperity. Today, logistics providers and shippers doing business in Brazil and many other South American countries face intimadating barriers to successfully moving cargo. These barriers include arcane cabotage regulations, excessively high taxes, ineffective government, poor transportation and energy infrastructures. Panelists will discuss these and other issues including the weakening Chinese demand for South America's abundant natural resources and the revisions to production in the Pre-Salt sector.
